With Loam Living, our mission is to bring the power of plants to the people through:
Building easy-to-maintain living walls and edible gardens for residential, commercial, and educational spaces
Organizing community gatherings and garden parties to educate and engage diverse learners
Offering tangible tools for seeding and sustaining thriving gardens
For Loam Living, tending to plant life—from a kitchen container garden brimming with healing herbs to an apartment oasis blooming with tropical transplants—is a practice in attention. In the heart of climate crisis and social injustice, learning how to notice, tend to, and grow are vital skills. We believe that edible and ornamental plants are gateways into engaging with our earth and we want to help you however we can in tuning into the power of plants.

ABOUT LOAM LIVING
Created by Loam Founder Kate Weiner, Loam Living is a community-powered project based in Boulder, CO, that builds verdant living walls and vibrant edible container gardens from sustainably sourced materials. We build installations for commercial, residential, and educational spaces as well as guide accessible workshops on putting permaculture into practice.
Loam Living is an extension of Loam’s commitment to co-creating experiences that nurture imagination, deepen our connection to soil and soul, and cultivate regenerative community.
Kate is a home gardener and permaculture practitioner who has worked professionally on urban farms in Portland, OR, and Brooklyn, NY, harvesting edible flowers, organizing farm-to-table suppers, and geeking out on compost. Kate has a Certificate in Permaculture Design from the Occidental Arts & Ecology Center and a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Anthropology from Wesleyan University. Kate is a recipient of the 2015 Brower Award for her work with Wild Walls, a vertical gardening initiative that created affordable and accessible living walls for her community; the 2017 John Goddard Prize for Environmental Conservancy; and the 2018 Spiritual Ecology Fellowship. Kate loves plants and people.
